So it Begins
The trip has officially started. I knew going into this that it was going to be 26 long hours of travel little did i know what I was really in for. I underestimated how hard it was going to be to leave home, the short flight to Dallas was spent randomly tearing up and completely making the guy next to me uncomfortable. Once in Dallas I thought things would be smooth sailing, we boarded the plane after they informed us that the plane we were going on was brand spankin new and this would be one of its first flights. I felt super lucky, little did i know this plane would soon become the scene of the worst flight of my life. We boarded only to be told that we really were not leaving for anotehr 2 hours so we had to all get off again. Finally we were airborn only 3 hours behind schedual. Everything was going smoothly until an hour in when all the sudden i started shivering uncontrollably. Anyone who knows me knows I am not one to EVER get cold like this. The flight attendant finally asked if I was okay because in her words I looked "pretty rough" when she figured out the problem she proceeded to bring me six blankets which still didnt make things any better. The poor Asian girl next to me who didnt speak english was completely baffled. By the time we got to New York I for sure thought I wasnt going to make it, the nice lady in front of me had a point and shoot thermometer which she let me borrow, I was in my own personal 102 degree hell. I kept slipping between being extremely cold and profusly sweating bulltes it was not a pretty sight. Once i got to New York thigns didnt get any better because i had to sprint to claim my bags and then book it to another terminal in hopes of catching my flight. Since i got to New York so late i missed hte group meeting therefore I had no idea who I was looking for in my group. Things started picking up though when I boarded the flight because not only where we flying British Airways but all fo the flight attendants we all hardcore British which as most people know is my OBSESSION I love british accents. The only down side was that since the London flight was delayed I Didnt get to go into London and meet up with Arden, instead I have gotten to yet again spend another day in the airport. My last flight leaves here in less than two hours and i cant wait to finally be in Africa.
